UPDATE *** November 2021 *** UPDATE

Given my last update was posted in 2018, there may be a general impression among the few who wander past these pages that I have lost interest in the Prime Hexagon or that I’ve grown discouraged and given up my efforts to explore this mathematical structure. Not so!

Granted, competing priorities have often stalled my work, but I continued on and have interesting results that I look forward to sharing. My vintage Mac Pros continued to be my computational mainstay, but over the years they dropped away one by one and now they sit silent (Apple no longer supports them and keeping them running was becoming a full-time job). I got a big compute boost in June when I assembled a 16 core (AMD 5950x), 64GB ECC RAM, Linux machine. Also, I largely abandoned coding in Python/Numpy (and my pathetic begging of my friend to translate my code into C++), and switched to Julia. Having a far more capable and faster machine – and fast code – has been transformational.

Now, about the results. I aim to release half a dozen videos (and post pages to this site) over the course of Fall and Winter. I’d love to get at least one video done by late November to mark the fifth anniversary of my introduction video. However, the new MacBook Pro I’ve ordered for video production will not reach me until early December. So, you know, realistically we are talking Christmas or early 2022.

Wish me luck,

Tad
